How Can I Help?

The Home Birth Summit was held on October 20-22, 2011 and was made possible by grants from The Transforming Birth Fund and the Foundation for the Advancement of Midwifery. Much progress was made, and nine shared vision statements, and associated strategic plans were developed by a multi-disciplinary panel of experts. Each vision statement provides the foundation for ongoing collaboration, discussion, and shared decision making.

The Future Search process normally includes at least one follow up meeting with the entire delegation present, as well as several action initiatives to be determined by individuals or multi=disciplinary work groups. The costs associated with facilitating these action items must be addressed, as well as support for dissemination of the outcomes of the summit, funds to enable cross-disciplinary and multi-jurisdictional communication, and the resources to provide ongoing project management for shared initiatives.

Please help families who choose planned home birth gain access to high quality maternity care in the United States by donating generously to this not-for-profit collaborative initiative.
